8 Ways You Could Be Disrespecting Your Partner Without Realising It

Related image
Relationships blossom when couples involved show each other the much  deserved respect and  it certainly hurts when we do not get the measure of respect we deserve from the
ones we love or are emotionally attached to.

Sometimes, in the little things we say or do we could just be disrespecting our partners without realising it.
Here are some ways we could be disrespecting our partners without knowing it:

Sharing Their Weakness With A Third Party

There are certain personal issues, that should remain personal in every sense of it. Your relationship and your spouse's flaws does not necessarily have to be an open book for everyone to read. It's always mature to keep what is personal, personal.

Interrupting
It is definitely rude to interrupt people when they speak, but sometimes out of familiarity, we make the mistake of cutting our partner's off, mid- sentence. It is a sure way of disrespecting your partner and making him or her feel less important.

Making All The Decisions
It takes two, to make a relationship work. A successful relationship entails that couples involve each other at every phase of decision making and more importantly carry each other along. It is disrespectful when you brush your partner aside and never consider their contribution while making a decision.

Criticising Your Partner In Public
Of course, it is alright to criticise a person when it is meant to correct, however criticising your spouse or partner in public, is a No, No.

Showing That Their Opinion Never Counts

We could just be disrespecting that loved one when we give the impression that their opinion holds no substance.

Arguing

This applies especially to wives, it is disrespectful to argue with your husband! It is not like you should agree to everything and anything he says all the time, there are certainly better ways to pass your message across even if it is contrary to his. Arguing with your husband, in my opinion is not the best way to communicate as a wife.

 Joking At Your Partner's Expense

It's okay to be witty sometimes but it is rather disrespectful to make your partner appear stupid in the name of a 'joke'. We should know when an intending  joke becomes out of place and know when to place a limit.

Cheating On Your Spouse

This is a sure way to tell every one who cares to know that your spouse or partner is insignificant! If you respect your spouse, you would never think of cheating on them.
