Gambian Army Chief Stands By Embattled President Yahya Jammeh


The former president of  The Gambia Yahya Jammeh has left Banjul the capital on exile after accepting to step down. Jammeh was in power for 22 years and lost in the democratic elections in December. He initially accepted defeat but later declined to relinquish power.However, with the intervention by neighbouring countries and the Ecowas forces who were on ground ,should he refuse to leave after the dead line (Friday), he eventually succumbed.
