Permanent Secretary, Driver Kidnapped In Ondo State

A Permanent Secretary  in the Ondo State  Hospital Management Board, Dr Niran Ikuomola and his driver have been kidnapped along the Lokoja- Abuja highway on Sunday, 14 May.


Vanguard reports that, the abductors have already made contact with the family of the victims and are demanding for the sum of N70million as ransom.

The Perm. Sec. was said to be heading for Abuja, for an official assignment before he was reportedly ambushed by the kidnappers.

Secretary of the State Chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA,  Dr Roland Arohunmolase, who confirmed the incident, described it as disturbing. He also said the kidnappers have also contacted the Association.

The Spokesman of the State Police Command, Femi Joseph, said he is not in the know of the incident but assured steps would have been taken . "I am not yet aware. Although it is outside our jurisdiction, I am sure our colleagues in Kogi State would have taken prompt action on the incident."
