North Korea has carried out another missile test, says South Korea's military.
This comes just a week after North Korea conducted a test which it said was a new type of rocket which had the capacity to carry a large nuclear warhead.
The UN Security Council had on Monday demanded that Pyongyang put a stop to such tests but
North Korea has once again defied UN warnings, BBC reports.
The recent missile flew towards the sea of Japan according to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The White house said the medium -range missile had a shorter range compared to those of the last three tests by Pyongyang.
Japan says it has lodged a protest with North Korea.
