Pope Francis Canonises Two Of The Three Children Of Fatima

One hundred years after the children of Fatima first saw the apparition of Mother Mary in Fatima, Portugal, Pope Francis, before a crowd  of over 500,000 people at the
Fatima Shrine in Portugal has canonised two of the three shepherd children.

"We declare the blissful Francisco Marto and Jacintha Marto saints, said the Pope.

The third child, Lucia is on her  way to becoming saint.
Francisco and Jacintha died in 1918 -1919 during the European influenza pandemic,
The prophesies of Fatima were written by Lucia, the third of the third children, who spent most of her adult life as a nun. She died in 2005.
