2017 May Day Celebration Is Cancelled In Kogi State- Labour

Kogi State chapter of The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), has  cancelled this year's May Day celebrations in the State, in protest over non payment of workers' salaries and
monthly pensions of retirees.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the State Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Onuh Edoka and his Trade Union (TUC), counterpart, Comrade Ojo Ronti, announced the cancellation.

According to the Union, there was "no reason to celebrate as workers and pensioners have been expecting hardship in the past 14 months due to the non -payment of salaries and pensions."
