immediate past governor was arrested for allegedly inciting his supporters to disrupt the conduct of local government elections being organised by the current State governor, Muhammad Badaru.
According to reports, Lamido was whisked away at the early hours of Sunday, from his Sharada home in Kano and was taken to the Zone one Command of the State where he is still being detained for interrogation. The council elections are scheduled for July 1.
