Workers Disrupt May Day Celebration In Abuja

May Day celebrations in Abuja was disrupted today,  as angry workers refused to be addressed by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige.


The Minister, had asked the Permanent Secretary for the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Biola Bawa, to address the workers as he in his capacity was to represent President Mohammadu Buhari ,at the occasion.

The workers, however, declined the move and asked the Secretary to descend from the podium.

Efforts by the Minister to intervene and calm the workers also proved abortive.

Many of the workers walked away angrily, from the square and the usual match past which characterise May Day celebration did not hold.
