PM news reports that ,the order was as a result of constant public complaints about the outfit and also Lagos state intention to re-position it.
A national daily recently, had reported that a vehicle which belong to a motorist who was arrested by VIO, was allegedly burnt down by the outfit and that the news did not go down with Governor Ambode, who would not tolerate any unruly behaviour in his administration.
Other than this, complaints of supposed high- handeness and over -zealousness on the part of the VIO officers seem to be the major reason why the outfit has been ordered out of the roads until further instruction.
Vehicle inspection officers have left Lagos roads since last week.
