Seven candidates of Nigerian descent have been elected into the United Kingdom parliament after elections held on Thursday.
They are; Fiona Onasanya representing Peterborough, Kate Osamor, Edmonton; Chuka Umunna, Streatham; Kemi Badenoch, Saffron Walden; Bim Afolami, Hitchin and Harpenden; Chi Onwurah, Newcastle; Helen Grant, Maidstone and The Weald.
