How To Make Him Propose

Image result for propose

Have you been in a relationship for too long and you are certain you both want to spend the rest of your lives together, but for one reason or the the other he seems not to know how to propose?

Before taking any step,
ensure that he is physically and psychologically prepared for marriage.
Marriage is meant for the mature mind and for those who are truly ready for the commitments it requires.

Here are some simple things to do that could give him reasons to make that life changing decision, ways to make him go on bended knees, with the ring of course.

  • Never pressure him: Guess what? He knows your expectation but he is just trying to take his time. Don't give him reasons to feel pressured . Let it come freely from him. If possible give him some space or time to make up his mind. When a man is ready to make you his wife, then he is ready in all sense of the word. He will not only get on one knee to propose, he would gladly walk on his head if that is what it takes. So, don't push him.
  • Don't try too hard to please him: It is not necessary trying too hard to please him. Be yourself, that is what you really need. Don't talk or act desperate, probably because all your friends are getting married. He has been with you all this while, for who you are, so don't change into a stranger overnight, just because you want something urgently.
  • Give him signs: Have you considered fear of rejection as the reason behind his inability to propose? He might  just be afraid of you turning him down. You could give him some signs by talking about a friend's wedding, how happy your friends are since they got married, the type of marriage you fancy, a romantic place you'll love to visit when married, once in a while centre your discussion around marriage. That way, he will most likely get the message and  it will cancel his fears.
  • Introduce him to those that matter to you: Give him a sense of belonging. Introduce him to your family and friends. This way he'll know he is important and that you want him to really be a part of your life.
  • Make him feel insecure sometimes: Make him realise, that he is not all you breathe, eat and drink. Be relevant, be a significant part of his life. Make him realise  he would be missing out if he doesn't make that decision, however, endeavour not to  take it too far. You could try telling him you want to start a new job in another city or would want to spend some time alone some where, or to go on vacation.
  • Talk to him: If you've tried all these options and nothing seem to work, then it is time to tell him how you feel. You need to know his plans for you. If a relationship has been going on for a reasonable period, say three or four years, it should be defined. You need to know where it is heading. You wouldn't want to spend three, four or more years of your life chasing shadows. Whatever the response, please respect his decision.
