Abducted Ondo State Monarch Released

The Oniyani of Iyani -Akoko, Oba Joel Daodu who was recently abducted by unknown gunmen, along Owo/Ikare Akoko expressway, Ondo State, has been released.


Channels TV reports that the Monarch was found walking by the road side in Ayede- Ogbese along Akure -Owo highway from where he was taken to the police station.

The Chief Press Secretary to Ondo State Governor, Segun Ajiboye and the Spokesman for the Ondo State Police Command, Femi Joseph both confirmed the development.

A ransom of N5 million had been demanded by his abductor, but  there is no confirmation as to whether the ransom was paid to secure his release.

Mr Joseph, said that Oba Daodu did not inform the police about any payment of ransom.He also added that investigation is still going on to capture the kidnappers.
