The Catholic Arch Bishop of Lagos, Most Rev. Alfred Adewale Martins, during a chrism mass at St. Michael, Raphael and Gabriel Catholic Church Satellite Town, Lagos, called on Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of love, peace, sacrifice and forgiveness which are the lessons of Easter.

Vanguard reports that, while at the Holy Cross Cathedral, the Arch Bishop, told Nigerians to be their brother's keepers as the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is being celebrated all over the world.

Martins, condemned the acts of some government official who embezzle funds meant for the development of the economy while in office, calling it  an act of greed and selfishness.

"We are not satisfied with the situation the government has left us. We have been hearing about people storing multiples of millions in warehouses and shops and you wonder what kind of greed and selfishness is this. There is so much more than we know that are happening with regards to our common wealth," he said.

During the Chrism mass, the Bishop reminded the priest that it was an opportunity for them to renew their priestly vows and re-dedicated themselves to the service of God and humanity. He also asked the priest to ensure  that the virtues and values of the church is preserved.
