Dangote Quits Noodles Business, Sells Firm To Dufil, Indomie Maker.

Dangote Flour mills (DFM), has decided to quit its noodles business and has sold the assets of Dangote noodles to Dufil Prima Foods, makers of Indomie Noodles.


Having recently re-acquired the business from Tiger brands, DFM in explaining its decision, said it no longer considered it strategic.

To assist Dufil and smoothen the transition, DFM in the interim has granted the company the use of its facilities.

 Group Managing Director, Dangote Flour Mills, Thabo Mabo, said the decision was part of plans to focus on core areas of flour and  pasta production where the company has a better  market share.

Dulfil Prima is expected to commence production immediately and under the terms of the sales agreement will continue to produce and sell noodles under the name of Dangote noodles for a period of two years before changing its name, the transition became effective last Monday.

Chief Executive officer of Dufil Prima Foods, Deepak Singhal who confirmed the deal said acquiring Dangote Noodles was strategic in the growth and expansion of the company.
