The leader of The Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has finally been freed from Kuje Prison.

Kanu who has been in detention since 2015, was released on Friday after he met the bail conditions granted him by an Abuja High Court on Tuesday.

Justice Binta Nyako had granted bail to the IPOB leader who was standing trial for treason, on health grounds.
The Judge, had however asked that the bail conditions would include the presentation of three sureties- a serving Senator, a Judaic priest and a highly respected Nigerian with landed property in Abuja.

The IPOB leader was mandated not to grant any press interviews or be seen in a gathering of more than 10 persons while on bail.

Kanu, upon fulfilling the bail conditions, on Friday, was handed over to Senator Abaribe, one of those who stood surety for him.
