Easter: Monarch Abducted In Ondo State

Just as Easter celebrations are going on in many parts of Nigeria, unknown gunmen have reported kidnapped a traditional ruler in Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State.


Punch reports that Oba  Joel Daodu, the Oniyani of Iyani Akoko,  was forcefully on Ikare -Owo Expressway at Oba Akoko, at night on  Saturday, April 15, by kidnappers.

The family were contacted few hours after the abduction and a ransom of N15million was demanded.

Police Spokesperson, Femi Joseph who confirmed the incident said the police are not aware of any ransom but assured they have started taking action to ensure the traditional ruler is rescued.
