Girl Living With Monkeys, Rescued In India

A young girl of about eight or ten years who has been living with monkeys has been rescued by Police in India.


The girl was found in the forest in Uttar Pradesh, few weeks ago and according to doctors, she could not communicate and displayed traits of monkeys.

Villagers in Katarniaghat wildlife sanctuary on India border with Nepal spotted her while she was playing with a pack of monkeys and imitating them by walking on all fours.

Although she is currently receiving medical attention, authorities say she would be taken to a child welfare agencies and other medical specialist to assist her and introduce her to the world.

The girl has been compared to Mowgli the character in the popular Jungle book who was raised by wolves.
Meanwhile, the police say they are going through lists of missing children in India, in order to identify the girl.
