South Africa: Massive Protest Against Jacob Zuma

There was a mass protest in South Africa , today as thousands of people march across Johannesburg, the commercial capital of South Africa and in other small towns in protest,
calling for President Jacob Zuma to step down.

In Pretoria, the administrative capital of South Africa, there were several people seen carrying banners reading "Zuma not my President"and "the power of the people is stronger than the people in power."

The Guardian reports that the protest was prompted by the President's cabinet reshuffle last week in which the widely respected Finance Minister, Pravin Gordhan,was sacked.

The 74- year old has been accused of corruption and filling key position in his administration with loyalists, maintaining inappropriate relations with a powerful family of local tycoons and packing party committees with supporters. President Jacob Zuma, has denied any wrong doing.
