German Archaeologists Abducted In Nigeria Freed

Two German Archaeologist  Peter Breunig, a Professor and Johannes Behringer his colleague who were kidnapped in Kaduna State have been freed on Saturday night unhurt, according to the Police.

The victims were released in Katari, a village along the Kaduna -Abuja expressway after a team of The Police Mobile Force, Intelligence Response Team and and a team of  the State Anti Kidnapping Unit Personnel stormed the forest.
The kidnappers had earlier requested for ransom but there is no report as to whether the ransom was paid or not.
Police say investigations are still on going to ensure the arrest of the kidnappers.
The two Germans have been reunited with officials at the German Embassy in Abuja .
The Archaeologists were abducted on February 22 in a forest in Kaduna State where they were carrying out  a research work.
