Kidnapped Soldier In Lagos: "Soldier Was Missing In Action Not Kidnapped" -Nigerian Army

The soldier who was reported missing, in Lagos last week was only missing in action according to the Nigerian Army. The clarification was made by the spokesman of the 81 Division, Lt -Col. Olaolu Daudu in a statement in Lagos.

According to Lt- Col Daudu, " I will like to state that no officer was kidnapped. The officer got missing in action, when troops came under attack and heavy gunfire in an ambush, while on routine patrol of creeks around Abule Ado, Festac Town Area in Lagos".
The soldiers were able to fight their way out of the ambush, after which the said soldier was discovered  missing.
However, search for the missing personnel is on going and the army has asked for any useful information from the public to aid the search.
