One Dead As Car Plunges Into Lagos Lagoon

A woman has been reported dead, after a silver-coloured Kia Rio car, on Saturday night, around 7.45pm plunged into the Lagos Lagoon at Mekwen Bridge, Bonny Camp in Marina Lagos.
A man, identified as Mr. Felix Aniele was said to have driven the car while the woman, Chinagorom Adibe was seated at the passenger side.
According to Premium Times, when the incident occurred , Mr Felix who drove the car swam to the river bank while the female occupant got trapped and drowned with the car in the lagoon.
The corpse of Chinagorom was recovered from the car, with the combined efforts of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA , LASAMBUS, Nigeria Police Force and  National Emergency Management Authority, NEMA.
Mr Kehinde Adebayo, LASEMA spokesperson, said the car has been towed to the bar beach Police station while Chinagorom's corpse has been deposited at the Mainland Hospital Mortuary Lagos.
The General Manager ,LASEMA said investigation surrounding the incident will be conducted by authorised authorities and he also advised motorists to be safety conscious while plying the road.
