Human Trafficking: 41 Nigerian Girls Arrive Lagos From Mali

Forty one Nigerian girls who were deported from Mali arrived at the Murtala Mohammed International airport on Monday, aboard a military aircraft which landed at the Nigerian  Airforce Hangar wing of the Lagos airport  at 7.28pm.

The girls were victims of human trafficking to Mali and their deportation was as a result of the joint efforts of the Ministry of Defence, Nigerian Airforce, Office of the Senior Assistant to the President on Diaspora and the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) to evacuated the girls from the Malian capital, Bamako.
Abike Dabiri -Erewa,  Senior Special Assistant to the President on Diaspora while speaking in an interview, acknowledged the efforts of Chief of Defence staff , Nigerian Airforce, NAPTIP and other government agencies in the deportation of the girls.
She also advised the girls to make the best use of their lives as there was nothing reasonable they were doing in Mali.
According to her, there are many Nigerians in Mali that should be brought home and the return of the 41 girls was a directive by the President, that Nigerians stranded anywhere in the world should be assisted to return home.
