Nigerians In South Africa Face Another Attack



Is xenophobia synonymous with  South Africa

There are renewed attacks on Nigerians in South Africa as confirmed by  the Nigerian Community in South Africa..

As reported by NAN, Mr Ikechukwu  Anyene, President, Nigerian Union, told NAN over the phone that the attack and looting of Nigerian owned businesses in Pretoria started around 4.00am on Saturday. He said the Union had reported the incident to the Nigeria Mission and to the South African police.
"As we speak five building with Nigerian businesses including a church have been looted and burnt by South Africans."
"one of the buildings he says is a mechanic garage with 28 cars under repairs, including vital documents were burnt down".
"Also , the pastor of the church was wounded and is in the hospital receiving treatment "he said.

Anyene said Nigerians in South Africa have been asked to be vigilant in the face of renewed attack by South Africans. He also asked that the Nigerian Government persuade its South African counterpart to protect Nigerians in their country.
