Alleged $1m Fraud: EFCC Says Money Was Discovered In Former Chief Of Defence Staff's Bedroom

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, before a Federal High Court in Abuja yesterday. Tuesday, revealed how the operatives of the agency discovered the sum of $1m  and
land documents in a wardrobe inside the bedroom of former Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh.The prosecuting witness for the EFCC said the money was  hidden in a pack of boiling kettle  which was placed  in the upper compartment of the bedroom wardrobe, in the former CDS's Maitama Home.
The defendant, through his  Council, Sanusi Lasun (SAN)  objected to the search warrant saying it contravened section 150 of the Administration Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015.
Alex Badeh is currently facing trial along side his firm, Iyalikam Nigeria Limited before Justice Okon Abang on a 10-count charge for money laundering, corruption and criminal breach of Trust to the tune of N3.97bn, a charge levelled against him by the EFCC.
He was alleged to have diverted the huge amount from the accounts of Nigerian Airforce, NAF in 2013.
