EFCC Confisticates Former Minister Of FCT And His Son's Houses



The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission EFCC has confisticated choice houses  and plots belonging to  the immediate past Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Alh. Bala Mohammed
 and his son Shamsudeen Bala for now, pending the conclusion of investigation and determination of criminal charges levelled against them.
The properties include three plots at different levels of completion, in Jabi area, Sunrise Estate Asokoro, Damaturu Crescent off Ahmadu Bello way, Garki 11, Marian Street Asokoro, Twin Plaza at Wuse Zone 3, all in Abuja.
Others include the ones in Maitama Abuja, an estate and plaza at Dawaki opposit Gwarinpa, another estate at Jahi District, three number duplex Abuja Investment Company Limited estate and a shop at Dubai Market Kaura District all in Abuja too.
EFCC believes the properties were acquired by father and son with stolen public funds.
According to thenationonline, a mansion worth N782million belonging to the Ex Minister has also been placed  under temporary forfeiture.
The former Minister will be arraigned in court any moment from now by the EFCC to face trial for charges of corruption.
Senator Bala Mohammed was arrested in connection with alleged N1billion fictitious contract and also being questioned  for allegedly allocationing 12 choice plots worth billions of naira to his son Shamsudeen Bala, 37 other commercial plots of land worth about N8billion to his suspected front and the controversial N1trillion Abuja land swap.
 Shamsudeen Bala on February 3 2017 was granted bail in the sum of N100m by Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of The Federal High court Abuja with two sureties worth N50m each.
Bala is being prosecuted by the EFCC  on a 15-count charge of money laundering amounting to N1.2billion which he pleaded not guilty. His trial will commence on 27 of March 2017.
