CAF Issues Cosefa Warning Letter Over Planned Meeting

The Chairman of The Council of South African Football Associations (Cosafa), Mr Philip Chiyangwa  who  scheduled a meeting with other African FA Chairmen for
24 February in Harare Zimbabwe has been cautioned by Confederation of Africa Football ( CAF).
CAF on behalf of its President Issa Hayatou , has sent a warning letter to Cosafa "You do not have any authority to convene such meeting, without CAF knowledge nor without its required approval"
The letter further stated that "Convening a meeting with representatives of many member associations outside Cosafa zone is deemed to represent an attempt to destabilise CAF".
The warning came just after Cosefa endorsed Ahmad Ahmad who is the head of Madagascar FA, as a presidential candidate for the upcoming CAF elections.
Mr Phillip, has also replied CAF defending its intention to hold the meeting.
