Muhammed Ali jr. who was travelling with his mother Khalilah Camacho -Ali together with his father's friend and lawyer was detained, with his mother only because of their Arabic sounding names. His mother, was however allowed to leave after she showed a photo of herself and her late husband. Muhammed Ali Jr. had no such photo, so he was further detained for questioning.
The Ali family has connected the incident to President Donald Trump's recent travel ban policy which restricts nationals from mainly muslim countries from entering the United States. The order has since been banned by a Federal High court.
The Ali family and their lawyer is considering a Federal lawsuit.
