Massive Lay-Off At Exxon Mobil Nigeria

The US oil giant in Nigeria, Exxon Mobil has laid off  more  89 workers in the on going retrenchment that started last year.

A source disclosed that about 60 regular workers and 29 contract workers were affected, mainly at the Qua Iboe Terminal in Akwa Ibom.
The laid off workers have been paid their benefits which commensurate with the number of years put in by the workers.
We recall that in December 2016, the Lagos office of the company was shut down following disagreement between the workers and the company's management over same retrenchment issue.
About 250 workers of Exxon mobile were laid off between January and November last year.
