Striking Doctors Jailed In Kenya

Seven officials of medics who are all doctors have been put behind bars in Kenya for failing to call off a two months old strike by doctors at public hospitals.
Almost 5,000 doctors in Kenya are on strike. They are demanding for better pay and an improvement of the countries public health care.
The court sentence had been suspended by Judge Hellen Walsima on condition that the doctors called off the strike. however, the doctors refusal to call of the strike prompted the Judge to stand the order.
The country's medic Union said there will be no negotiation with the President Uhuru Kenyatta's government as long as their member are being held.
The doctors insist the government implement the  agreement reached in 2013 which will increase their salaries by 180%. Reports have it that there is a total shutdown of Kenya's health system.
