According to Vanguard , Fulani herdsmen in Ibarapa area, Oyo State under the platform of Jamu Nati Fulbe Association of Nigeria, made the threat after claiming that all their complaints in the past were not attended to by relevant authorities.
The National Chairman of the Fulani socio-cultural organisation, Alhaji Saliu Kadir said in order to get the attention of the relevant authorities to listen to their complaints, the first step is to shutdown all cattle markets in the area, this he said, is to protest against the continuous killing of their cattle by unknown farmers in the area.The Chairman also said the closure of the market will be for one week however, it will be extended if the authorities fail to give them assurance of protection over their cattle.
