Long Beards And Veils Banned In Xinjiang, China

China has introduced restriction on "abnormally" long beards and the use of veils in public places and refusing to watch state television
in Xinjiang area according to the BBC.

Xinjiang is the homeland of Uighurs, a mainly Muslim population who claim they are facing discrimination.

The rule further states that, public workers in places such as Airports, Stations are to discourage those who fully cover their bodies, including veiling their faces, from gaining entrance and to report them to the police.
China says it is a measure to curb Islamic extremism.
