James Ibori was picked up this morning upon arrival by the DSS. Lawal Daura , the Director -General of Department of State Securities cleared the air by saying that the former Governor
was scheduled for a debriefing session with him and the visit was meant to welcome Ibori back to the country. The cable reports that the DSS equally explained that the "Ex- governor's visitation should not be seen as an arrest".The DG was also quoted by the as saying
“He met me for a short debriefing session and way forward; also, to welcome him back to his fatherland. We are also meeting soon to discuss issues of interest affecting the nation,” .
