DStv, GOtv Subscribers To Pay More From May 1

The subscription rates for DStv and GOtv has been increased  by 5 percent with effect from May 1, by its owners Multichoice.


The new price for Dstv premium bouquet has increased from N13,980  to N14,700. Compact plus subscribers will pay N9,900 rather than the previous N9,420. Compact subscribers will pay N6,300 as against N6,000.

For Family bouquet DStv subscribers, the new price will be N3,800 as against N 3,600. Access bouquet will be N1,900 and no longer N1,800 while Commercial bouquet which is currently N1,720 will be N1,850.

For Gotv subscribers, the new rates for Gotv value and Gotv Lite bouquet will be N1,300 and N450  from the current rates of N 1,200 and N400 respectively.

Cable reports that, John Ugbe, the Managing Director of Multichoice Nigeria, in a statement said,
"However, all our content is purchased in dollars and although we have done everything possible to hold the prices even with the prices of everything else is going up,we are now left with no choice but to adjust our subscription prices from May 1.

"Our key priority is to put subscribers' needs at the heart of everything we do and therefore, in determining the price adjustment, we took into account many factors including, the impact on the customer, current inflation which stands at 19 percent, programming cost and efficiencies within the company. Please be assured that we have worked really hard to keep this years' fee manageable."
