The Ondo House Of Assembly has been sealed by The Police today, Monday. The Police gave the recent leadership crisis facing the House as reason for the closure.
The crisis in Ondo House of Assembly started when the speaker,
Ms Jumoke Akindele and other principal officers were impeached on allegation of N15million fraud on 27 January 2017.
The alleged amount was found with the Paymaster of the House Mr. Makanjuola Adesina, who upon interrogation by members of the House, said the money was withdrawn on the instruction of the Speaker Ms Jumoke Akindele and was meant for an undisclosed project. The House though, has an Acting Speaker , Mr Malachi Coker, Ms Jumoke Akindele still claims to be the Speaker of Ondo House Of Assembly so, the House did not need an Acting Speaker.The Inspector General Of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris has therefore ordered the House to be sealed .
