Operating a Barber Shop is one business that is usually neglected by many people. especially by men. If you try to calculate how much you spend monthly to groom your hair or shave, I guess you will be able to understand the business better.

According to Mr Tope, the owner of a thriving barber shop, in Lagos, most of his customers groom their hair once a week and shave at least twice a week.
In his shop he says, shaving costs N200  while grooming costs around N300 to N500 depending on the customer. So, weekly he realises N15,000 to N25,000, and monthly, after all expenses, he realises N60,000 to N100,000.He confirms that the business is a profitable one, however it depends largely on location and how skilled the barber is. If you are located in a very busy place you could realise almost twice the amount stated, he said .
The business is not so demanding since it thrives more during weekends. You can run it along side  any other job.
Capital required to set it up: N200,000 - N250,000
Requirements:  Space, Barber's Chairs, Steriliser, Mirror, Clippers, Brushes (hard and soft),
Cape, Extra Chairs; you also need a skilled and very friendly Barber.
