The Comptroller -General of the Nigerian Custom Services , Col. Hammed Ali (Rtd.), arrived the premises of the National Assembly today, without uniform as mandated by the lawmakers.
The Custom boss arrived the National Assembly, dressed in White cafta, a matching white cap and black shoes, shunning the orders of the lawmakers and headed straight to the office of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki. He was led by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang, who was also dressed in white.
It would be recalled that the Comptroller -General was ordered by the Senate to appear before it today in uniform, to explain the rationale behind the controversial directive on payment of important duties by all vehicle owners.
