The huge statue which was recently discovered in Cairo and was thought to be one of the country's famous Pharaohs, Ramses II may be the
statue of another ancient Egyptian ruler and not Ramses II as announcement  by the  Egyptian Minister of Antiquities.

Khaled el- Anani , the minister, speaking in the front yard of the museum, with parts of the statue (torso and partial head) some meters behind him,  said the massive statue certainly resembles Psamtek I who ruled Egypt between 664 and 610BC.
The statue was thought to be that of Ramses II who ruled in Egypt more than 3000 years ago.
