The former Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Andrew Yakubu will on Thursday be arraigned before a Federal High court in Abuja by The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC,
On February 3, some EFCC operatives following a tip off, stormed a building in a slum in Kaduna State, belonging to Mr. Yakubu where the sum of N3.7billion in dollars and pounds was recovered.
Yakubu who was arrested by the EFCC, has since remained in the custody of the anti graft agency, where he had filed a suit against the Agency for keeping him its custody without charging him.
The former GMD had said through his lawyer that his continual stay in EFCC custody was an infringement on his fundamental human right, since the money in question was his.
