The doctor, who was said to be coming from church, asked his driver to stop the car (a grey coloured Nissan SUV with registration number LND 476 EE) on the Adeniji Adele axis of the bridge after receiving a call. He suddenly jumped into the lagoon, killing himself.
According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, a distress call was made by concerned citizens over the incident which happened around 4:30 pm, Sunday, on the third mainland Bridge.
The car and driver have been taken to the Adeniji Adele Police station for further investigation.
Efforts are still being made to recover the body of the man.
