Yakubu, who was arrested on February 8 by the EFCC over the N3.7billion recovered from his house in Kaduna, had filed a N1billion suit against the agency at the Federal High Court in Abuja, before Justice Ahmed Muhammed, seeking for compensation for the infringement of his fundamental human right and continued detention by the EFCC.
Today, at the resumed hearing of the case, Yakubu's lawyer, Adeola Adedipe told Justice Mohammed at the Federal High Court, Abuja that a notice of discontinuance of the suit had been filed on behalf of his client.
The lawyer gave the recent arraignment of the former GMD and the bail granted him as reasons for discontinuing the suit.
The suit was then struck out by the Presiding Judge, Justice Ahmed Mohammed.
