Janusz Korwin- Mike an independent member of the European Parliament and founder of a right wing political party the Coalation for the Renewal of the Republic--- Freedom and Hope is being investigated for a hate speech he made during a debate on the gender pay gap.
According to Korwin Mikke, " Women must earn less because, Women are weak, they are smaller , they are less intelligent."
His statement caused a lot of outrage and a parliamentary member Iratxe Garcia Perez spoke up "I know it hurts and worries you that today women can sit in this house and represent European citizens with the same rights as you, I am here to represent women from men like you,"She said.
Mr Korwin -Mikke had previously said women should not be allowed to vote and was investigated for incitement to rape in 2014.
The European Parliament President Mr Antonio Tajani has been urged to sanction Mr Korwin -Mikke for his disgraceful statement.
