Fire Engulfs Nafdac Warehouse

The  warehouse of The National Food and Drug Administration and Control Office, NAFDAC, located at Oshodi, Lagos, was engulfed by fire, on Saturday.

The General Manager of Lagos State Emergency Management  Agency, LASEMA, Adesina Tiamiyu said  the fire started from the powerhouse  in  the premises of the NAFDAC around 3.10pm , which then spread to the Agency's warehouse where chemicals are stored.

 The combined efforts of The Lagos State Fire Service and LASEMA, put out the fire and ensured that it did not spread into other parts of the building.

Mr Tiamiyu also acknowledged the efforts of some  NAFDAC staff who supported the team in putting out the fire and ensuring that no lives were lost in the inferno.

The LASEMA boss added that the necessary investigation will be carried out to find out the cause of the fire.
