The use of video Assistant referees could be introduced to English Football by August according to the Football Association.

The  new technology which initially was to be trialled in the FA Cup in January 2018 is now to be trialled first in the EFL Cup first round.

The BBC reports that the technology is being used worldwide currently and that the FIFA President, Gianni Infantino is also eager to apply the technology at the 2018 World Cup scheduled to hold in Russia.

Video  assistant referees will only be used for key incidents relating to goals, penalties, mistaken identities and red cards.

During the recent friendly in Paris on Tuesday night as Spain beat France, video assistant technology was used to correct two wrong referee decisions.
