In a statement by the Registrar , Prof. I-shaq Oloyede , the sales of forms will start on Monday 20th March till Wednesday April 19, he announced .
He also stated that registration closes, Saturday, April 22 and that the registration date will not be extended for candidates who will seat for its 2017 Computer Based Test (CBT) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, (UTME).
According to him, the reason for reducing the period of sales from 3 months to 1 month is to prevent the students from being taken advantage of by fraudster who disguise as agents during prolonged sales of the forms.
There will also be an optional mock examination which will be free for prospective candidates and it will hold on April 8, but the UTME will commence May 6 to May 20.
"We have put in place facilities that will make it easy for candidates to register.
For instance, as soon as a candidate creates his profile on his mobile phone, automatically, we will send our e- syllabus and e- brochure into his e-mail.
"So even before going to pay for the mock, he already has the materials that he will need for the registration.
Candidates would have to pay only N700 to owners of centres where they would be posted at registration point for the mock examination.
"So it is important for candidates to keep passwords to their e-mails, ATM cards, in case they might use cash and even registration numbers to themselves to avoid being exposed to those who might want to take advantage and defraud them," he said.
