The Police in Lagos arrested three traders on Adenekan street, Alagbado  who used sniper to preserve beans they sell to members of the public.

The traders, Faith Ogbona, Chijioke Ogbona and Sunday Ogbonna were arrested by the Alagbado Divisional Policemen after they were alerted by a woman who saw the siblings spraying sniper (insecticide) on beans meant for sale.

The brothers admitted using snipers to preserve beans but seem not to see anything wrong with doing so. Chijioke one of the brothers said" I don't know it's harmful, I saw people using it for preservation that is why I used it."

According to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni,  "The excuse the owner of the shop ( One of the brothers) gave was that, he was mixing pesticide with beans and that he had been selling it like that. He approached the DPO, thinking he could easily settle the case and get the two other suspect released. He offered her N500,000, but she rejected it."

He also added that the suspects would be charged to court after investigation.
