Elderly And Teenage Suicide Bombers Destroy Fuel Tankers As They Blow Themselves Up

There was a terrorist attack on a gas station in Maiduguri, Borno State Capital yesterday, as an elderly woman who was accompanied by a boy and girl blew herself up beside a fuel tanker loaded with fuel.

The two teenagers were said to have continued down the road towards the fuel depot until they were challenged by soldiers.
 The soldiers had to shoot the teenage girl to prevent another bombing.

Police Commissioner, Damian Chukwu was quoted as saying " We are lucky. Today could have been another sad day for us in Maiduguri."

The attack which took place opposite the northeastern head quarters of the Central bank of Nigeria occurred just few days before the expected visit of the UN Security Council which is part of a four nation tour of countries in the Lake Chad Basin affected by the activities of the insurgence.
