Chief Udam Wuhe, a community leader confirmed that no fewer than 10 gunmen stormed the community from Tor Tonda- Zaki Biam road around 5pm on Monday, attacking residents with weapons. No fewer than 20 people were killed in the attack while scores were left seriously injured and many houses were also razed by the gunmen.
Recall that, the State Governor, Samuel Ortom had given all Fulani herdsmen in Buruku area of the State a 72 hour ultimatum, to leave the area after an attack barely 2 weeks ago.
Moses Yamu, The State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the attack and the killing, but said the number of casualties are yet to be confirmed.
He said, "We are yet to confirm the number of casualties, but our men are on ground to restore normalcy to the area."
