Harmful Frozen Fish Smuggled Into Nigeria- Government

The Federal government has raised an alarm that there are harmful frozen foods being smuggled into Nigeria by smugglers through land borders.


According to the government a wide range of harmful fishes like , Sardine, Pangassius, Croaker, Tilapia, Red Maku, Horse Mackerel and River bream are being smuggled in.

The government has vowed to clamp down on those involved in the act  and has also said that the government has put in place measures to arrest, detain and prosecute offender and that such persons when caught will be treated as criminals and as economic saboteurs.
