In a statement by the EFCC , the money was recovered "During a routine baggage screening, five sacks were sighted unattended and without tags containing fresh bulk items suspected to be money.
"Upon examination, the sacks were discovered to contain fresh crispy naira notes of N200 denomination in 20 bundles , totalling N40million and N50 denomination in 180 bundles totalling N9 million with seal purportedly emanating from the Nigeria Security and Minting Plc as seen in the labelled seal packs."
The EFCC said investigations are going on to find out the culprits behind the illegal movement of the cash."
