Ex NNPC GMD Says EFCC Has Refused Him Urgent Medical Attention

The former Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation,NNPC, Andrew Yakubu, has cried out that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC, has continued to keep him under its custody even though
no formal charges has been brought against him.

 Yakubu says the EFCC is preventing him from receiving a much needed medical attention due to the the continued stay.

Andrew Yakubu is being held by the EFCC for an alleged recovery of $9.7m which was found  in his house in Southern Kaduna.

In a statement by his lawyer, Ahmed Raji, SAN in Abuja, Sunday said "Within this time also, our client has been denied access to adequate medical attention which he desperately needs."

Mr Yakubu had previously said that he was being unjustly detained by The EFCC and was being denied his freedom and fundamental human right.
He had also demanded an apology from the EFFC for unjustly detaining him as the money in question is a "Gift" he had received.
